后宫斗争，亚洲皇后与阎妃同时怀孕，亚洲为保住地位，阎妃与其兄—阎兆良—诬指皇后叛国，使其满门被斩；皇后一人逃出宫外，沦落市井，生下了龙子，却遭人掉包为女婴。二十年后，流落民间的太子皓天、皇后的养女小青、阎姬的儿子启贤均长大成人，且因缘际会于民间相遇；启贤强夺小青，幸为皓天所救，两人情投意合；且皓天无意中救了微服出巡的皇帝，并入宫当侍卫保护皇帝；皓天、启贤、小青三人的恩怨遂从民间转而延伸至宫廷内……
